We have sold!

After  30 years at Chalet Tressud, we have sold the house and although we will continue to show our faces around the town and Portes du Soleil we will be concentrating on our skiing, apres-ski and

a bit of (grand) child care, we imagine!

Thank you to all our clients ,far and wide, who have helped us to make a great little business over the years.  It's been a blast.

Chalet

Chalet evening winter

Sleeping 8 – 10 (12 if you use the sofa bed in the TV room as an extra bedroom), the chalet is situated just above the village of Les Gets in the French Alps. All the bedrooms are ensuite, with an extra bathroom on the entrance level too. The dining table will extend to sit 12; the open plan kitchen with a little laundry corner is well equipped; a cosy TV snug with UK, free to view, channels plus an extensive DVD library, will double up as an extra bedroom as it has a double bed-settee, and off the entrance hall there is another cloakroom and shower. There is a large balcony from which to enjoy the view, and, later in the winter season and all summer long, on which to have your pre-dinner drinks. The TV snug leads out onto a second decked terrace, which gets the evening sun; it is a great place to barbecue in the summer. Ease away any aches and pains after skiing with an excellent massage from the powerful jets in the jacuzzi. We supply adult towelling robes and slippers to get to and from the jacuzzi — but bring your own swimwear.

Winter

Surrounded by snowy fields, Chalet Tressud offers a peaceful tranquility after a hard days skiing. The slopes are a just a short bus ride away; the bus is FREE, stopping 150m from us, and passing every 30 mins. Or you can drive — many of our guests do!

Self and Flexi–catering

To complete your stay there are now a wide variety of catering services on offer. We can recommend various companies to provide meals to heat up yourselves or other companies who can supply a full chef service. In house we can supply a simple service too. Home made bread and Jam or a pre-stay small shop for vital supplies for example should you require, ready for your arrival.

Summer is glorious and there is so much to do. We subscribe to the Multipass, so you can enjoy a large range of activities for as little as 2€ a day. Click on the logo for all the details of the activities included in this scheme.

A welcome gift

To welcome you to the chalet, we will ensure that there are store cupboard basics, and a bit more — a bottle of wine to de-stress after the journey, and first morning breakfast essentials. Bring you own favourite Nespresso capsules for the machine or buy some from us. If you need some other basics on arrival do not hesitate to ask. All the beds will be made up and towels provided.

Why Les Gets?

Snowy views over les Perrières

Between Lake Geneva and Mt Blanc, in a mountain pass at 1200 metres altitude, Les Gets was our secret corner of paradise. For very good reasons, it now is becoming increasingly popular. Part of the Portes du Soleil ski area, only an hour and a bit from Geneva Airport, and approximately 8 hours from most channel ports, it is easily accessible whatever your mode of transport. Once you have arrived you are sure to be charmed by the town's traditional mountain village atmosphere and Savoyard wood and stone chalet architecture. It is well supplied with shops and restaurants and a range of activities and entertainment are on offer. The skiing is varied and there are innumerable other activities, winter and summer alike. Check out the two links at the foot of the page to find out more.

About us

As many of our clients now know, we have the chalet on the market.  Therefore we are only booking one season ahead at the moment until we have a sale.  We have had 30 wonderful years at Chalet Tressud but now hope to have more freedom to travel as parents and grandparents, to visit our families, who have settled around the world.  However, it appears we will be in Les Gets this Summer.

We, Peter and Joanna Hallewell, live on site in our own self contained apartment under your holiday accommodation.  We are on hand in the case of emergency, to service the jacuzzi daily and to help with any local information. We are very sensitive to our clients needs and keep ourselves to ourselves.  We have a dog and we welcome well behaved dogs to the chalet by prior arrangement.
