We are only just over an hours drive from Geneva Airport. During the winter there are many options in terms of airline and departure airports in the UK. Please explore all the links: it is well worth while really shopping around for the best deal.
Remember the chalet has to be vacated by 10am and we cannot guarantee it being ready on your day of arrival until 4pm.
If you are hiring a car, contrary to popular belief, there is little benefit from hiring one on the French side of the airport.
Airport transfers are available from a variety of companies. We recommend the two Les Gets independant companies - see links to the right. Otherwise a quick Google search with the words <airport transfers Geneva Les Gets> should reveal other choices.
- The directions below should ensure you find Chalet Tressud without too many problems.
- Although the roads up to the chalet are cleared regularly you should have a set of chains. If these devices are new to you, we strongly recommend you have a practise at fitting them before you leave the UK: by the side of a mountain road in a blizzard is not the place to learn how to fit chains, or to find out they don't fit your tyres!
- Don't forget copies of your insurance certificate & vehicle registration document, and your driving licence.
- We would appreciate it if you could let us know roughly what time you expect to arrive; we can't promise the chalet will be ready before 4.00pm, but if you arrive before that we will be able to let you have a room in which to change, leave your things etc..
- Ferry rates seem to be very variable and flexible at the moment with the competition from the channel tunnel. We suggest you ring around your own travel agents for their best rate!
- The motorway tolls from Calais to Les Gets currently amount to around 65 euros.
