Walking: the possibilties are endless: from gentle strolls around the meadows and using the lifts to avoid the ups and downs, to full-on scaling of peaks!

Mountain Biking: the World Championships were held in Les Gets 2004 – what better recommendation!

Road Cycling: every few years the Tour de France visits the area. Last year, 2010, it passed through Les Gets twice; but for 2011 it will be a little further away. Bring your road bike and take on the same routes the 'Le Tour' uses – or try other, less demanding, ones!

Swimming: Les Gets has it's own swimming lake. It's a great place to while away a hot sunny afternoon – you could be by the beach, but with beautiful, clear, freshwater.

Water-skiing/wake-boarding: both are available 40 minutes away on Lake Geneva. Spend a day messing about on the water!

Tennis: Les Gets has 3 public courts.

Rafting/hydrospeeding/kayaking: all are available 30 minutes away on the river Dranse, before it flows into Lake Geneva. (AN Rafting)

Golf: there is a wonderful 18 hole course in Les Gets and, if your round isn't going so well, just enjoy the walk and the most magnificent views. (Golf des Gets)

There are other magnificent courses less than an hour away including Evian, Chamonix, & Mégève, together with nine hole courses at Avoriaz & Flaine.

Canyonning/via ferrata/climbing: experience numerous more adventurous activities in the company of a local guide.

Fantasticable/Adventure Parc/Summer Toboggan: fly across the valley suspended from a cable, swing and climb around in the trees in the Les Gets' Adventure Parc or take an exhilarating ride on the summer toboggan in Morzine.

Paragliding: take a tandem ride or a short course and learn to fly yourself. (Air Libre & Les Gets Parapente)

Places to visit: within an hours drive there are some wonderful towns & cities to visit. To name a few, there is Annecy with it's beautiful lake and mediaeval streets; the internationally important Geneva; Chamonix, the spectacular home of alpinism; the mediaeval town of Yvoire in it's beautiful setting on the shores of Lake Geneva; or sophisticated, chic Evian.
