It is a legal requirement in the UK and the rest of Europe that Food Handlers are trained in Food Safety to a level commensurate with their job. It is also paramount to the peace of mind of any conscientious employer or operator in the catering industry.
Whether a small, one chalet operator or a large multi-chalet tour operator, restaurant or hotel it is something that must be addressed.
With the current compensation culture and litigious society in which we seem to live, the existence of documented training records provides a “due diligence” plea in the case of court action.
Training up to CIEH Level 2 Award for Food Safety in Catering which replaces the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
As refresher training is recommended every 3 years and this award is only valid 5 years we can also offer certificated update training.
Alternatively we have developed a 1/2 day course targeted at chalet staff and their supervisors focusing on the essentials of food hygiene in the chalet environment. This is a more economical
option for many companies. On completion of our test the company is issued with a certificate with all the relevant details including the names of those who attended.
Most courses are run for specific tour operators and within reason numbers attending are not limited. Groups of small companies are welcome to join together and book a course and, when possible, we will collate these requests and set up a specific course. Details will be posted on the website.
Other more practical training requirements you may have such as cooking, recipe development, kitchen management and house keeping skills are available to your specific requirements, please contact us to discuss this.
